I don't understand the previous posts about the battery jacket. The battery on my 2007 Octavia 1.9 tdi was down to 12.1 volts fully charged so I bought a Lion 096 battery, to replace the existing, smaller battery.. It fits straight in with the existing jacket, no problem and an easy job.
Hi Guys, it seems my 64 1.6 TDI DSG with stop start needs a new battery. Leaving it a few days almost makes it impossible to crank over. If you think the battery is ok, then buy a multimeter and start pulling the fuses. I delivered my octavia to the skoda mechanics and explained the problem (as I knew nothing about checking for battery drain). They found that the problem was located behind fuse 14 and recommended a change of the control unit for convenience system - about 380
